Founded in 1980, a small manufacturing factory based on the east coast of Scotland began producing outdoor protective clothing to a small number of local people to protect them from the elements of the harsh Scottish winters.

Employing experienced seamstresses from the surrounding area, the company grew throughout the 80's and established a reputation for producing quality, value, fit-for-purpose clothing.

The company owners had previously established Ardmel, an engineering factory, to design and manufacture specialist equipment for the clothing, electronics and motorcar industries. Its growing success led to the founding of Keela. Today Ardmel continues to lead the way with innovative fabric joining technology, enabling Keela to produce cutting edge designs with the newest fabric concepts and pioneering means for manufacturing.

Keela's priority is quality products and customer satisfaction – something more than just a label. They take an active roll in improving their products year after year, refining them for ultimate performance and wearer comfort. Their products are used extensively for both outdoor work and leisure activities, and are chosen by Mountain Rescue Teams, Police, ski schools and many more. Through this they have built up a reputation for top performance, quality garments, and being born and bred in Scotland , they know just how important it is to produce products to withstand anything the elements can throw at you…….

Keela's product range consists of techincal clothing for ski-ing, mountaineering, hiking, mountain biking, running, cycling and general outdoors.
